Music history covering the periods of medieval music to the music of the late twentieth century. Including musical excerpts and composer names etc.

It is important to be familiar with different styles and types of music and to be able to recognise them if they occur in the Listening exam. These styles and structures include a wide range of Vocal music including songs, Arias and Chorus; Orchestral music including symphonies and Tone Poems and Music for Small ensembles including String Quartets, Piano Quintets and other important areas of music.
